Congregational Church Stays Connected
During the suspension of in-person activities in light of the Covid-19 situation, the Congregational Church of Amherst, UCC has a variety of ways for members and others to connect with church programs. This is especially important during April as Holy Week and Easter are on the horizon.
The most up-to-date information about church activities can be found on the church’s website (ccamherst.org) or by calling the church office at 673-3231. Sunday services are broadcast on FacebookLive and recorded for later on-line viewing. Services are followed by a Virtual Fellowship Hour. Links for these and other events can be found on the website.
The church’s Facebook page is another source of information, including updates and video messages from the pastors. Pastors Maureen Frescott and Kate Kennedy are available to provide pastoral care during this time, and the church welcomes community members to connect with this loving, serving, open and affirming community of faith.
Lorraine Alice Hamilton
AMHERST – Lorraine Alice Hamilton of Amherst, New Hampshire, Beach Haven, New Jersey and Rancho Mirage, California died June 14, 2020 from pancreatic cancer at her home in California. She was 73 years old and a participant in the trial of a new cancer drug at NYU Langone in New York City since April 2019. She hoped that results from the trial would improve care for other patients who develop this cancer. She was with her family when she died and was

Jayson Darula
MONT VERNON – Jayson Darula passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 12, 2021 at the age of 65, in the presence of his nurturing and devoted wife and children. He fought valiantly against cancer in his latter three years, but it never beat his love of life and great sense of humor. He will not only be remembered for his wit and charm, but also for his generosity and thoughtfulness towards others.

on in his three beloved children Jordon, Grace, and August. He graduated from Marquette University, majoring in philosophy and history. He served his community in Mont Vernon, NH as a school board member and lacrosse and baseball coach.
He loved to read, and could often be found with either a historical non-fiction book, or a well worn copy of the New York Times at his side as he sipped coffee or slept on the patio. He was a regular attendee at Souhegan Woods Golf Course and Hampshire Hills Athletic Club, where
he was deeply embedded in both communities. He loved his work and the friends that he made as a lumber broker of 40 years. His quips were memorable, full of grace, and always honest.
Jayson leaves behind his own beautiful soul and memories to his loving wife, Kelly, and his three children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence and Paul Darula, and his older brother, Wayne Darula of Greenwich, CT, where Jayson was born and raised. He is survived by his sister Isabelle Darula and her husband Dr. Peter Cohen of Glenwood Springs, CO; his brother Peter and his wife Adriana Darula, of Lake City, MN, and their two children, Danika and Skyler.
A Memorial Golf Tournament in Jayson’s memory will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Souhegan Woods Golf Club, 65 Thorntons Ferry Rd 2, Amherst, NH. For more information please go to www.MVLCF.org (News & Events page).

Drusilla Nelson D’Auteuil
FORT MEYERS, FL – Dru D’Auteuil died of cancer at the age of 79 on the 6th of July, 2021, in Fort Myers, Florida. Dru was born January 8, 1942, in Madison, Connecticut. After graduating from Hand High School, Dru studied early childhood development at the University of Connecticut before teaching first grade in Rocky Hill, Connecticut.
In 1964 Dru met the love of her life, Don, at a summer outing in the Thimble Islands and they were married thirteen months later. Together they sailed the Eastern Seaboard,

designed and built six beautiful homes, called Amherst "home" for many years, raised two girls, travelled near and far, and maintained strong and
lasting friendships. They shared 52 wonderful years together. Dru was a passionate gardener, a gourmet cook, a dedicated volunteer, an avid walker, and an eternal teacher.
A truly kind and warm woman, Dru’s smile was infectious and welcoming. She was well practiced in the art of feeding the body and the soul with great food, thoughtful conversation and genuine laughter. Dru was small, but mighty. She was incredibly courageous and used her strong faith to persevere with grace and poise in the face of adversity.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Donald D'Auteuil, is survived by her daughters Nicole D’Auteuil Mutnick and Margaux D’Auteuil Peabody and their spouses; sister Marcia Masland; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Plymouth Congregational Church in Belmont, Massachusetts, on September 18th 2021, at 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers or donations, please plant something in your garden in her memory. She loved the bright hues of iris, day lilies, pansies, black-eyed Susans, and zinnias. If you do not have a garden, try to embrace frequent walks in her honor or invite friends over for a well-prepared delicious meal.
