Students named to dean’s list at Bates College

      LEWISTON, ME - The following students have been named to the dean’s list at Bates College for the winter semester ending in May 2021. This is a distinction earned by students whose grade point average is 3.88 or higher.

Elise Lambert of Amherst, N.H.. Lambert, the daughter of Brian A. Lambert and Lisa A. Lambert, is a 2018 graduate of Souhegan High School. She is majoring in politics and minoring in Spanish and history at Bates.

Els Caulo of Amherst, N.H.. Caulo, the daughter of Peter J. Caulo and Elizabeth G. Caulo, is a 2017 graduate of Brooks School. She is majoring in sociology and minoring in anthropology and Asian studies at Bates.

 

Area students receive degrees at Clark University’s 117th Commencement ceremonies

      WORCESTER, MA - Clark University awarded 490 bachelor’s degrees, 501 master’s degrees, and 10 doctorates, and conferred three honorary degrees during the University’s 117th Commencement ceremonies. Graduates were urged to ask the hard questions, drive change, and even occasionally stir some trouble. Among the graduates were: 

Emerson S. Addams, of Mont Vernon, graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in International Development and Social Change. Addams is a member of the Fiat Lux honor society.

Rosie Garvey, of Amherst, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.

Dean’s list honors announced at Tufts University

      MEDFORD/SOMERVILLE, MA - Tufts University recently announced the dean’s list for the Spring 2021 semester.

Among those students are:

•    Olivia Bennett of Amherst, NH, class of 2023

•    Evan Loconto of Amherst, NH, class of 2023

      Dean’s list honors at Tufts University require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or greater.

Jackson Reed Cleghorn Receives Degree from Washington and Lee University

      Lexington, Va. - - Jackson Reed Cleghorn of Amherst (03031), received a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude with honors in History from Washington and Lee University on May 27. 

Hofstra University Congratulates Spring 2021 Dean’s List Students

      HEMPSTEAD, NY - Hofstra University congratulates the students named to the Spring 2021 Dean’s List for their outstanding academic achievement. Students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 during the semester to make the Dean’s List.

Amherst Student inducted into National Honor Society for Physics

      MANCHESTER, NH - - A Saint Anselm College student Seth Adams of Amherst, NH, a physics major in the class of 2022 has been accepted into Sigma Pi Sigma, a national honor society for physics, for the 2020-2021 academic year. 

      Membership in Sigma Pi Sigma is by invitation. Students must carry a GPA that puts them in the top one-third of their class and have completed at least three semester courses in physics.

Local Student Inducted into National Scholastic Honor Society

      MANCHESTER, NH - - Saint Anselm College student McKenzie Robinson of Mont Vernon, an Elementary Education major in the class of 2022, has been inducted into the Tau Chapter of the Delta Epsilon Sigma National Scholastic Honor Society for the 2020-2021 academic year. 

      Students are considered for membership if they have completed at least 50% of the credit requirements for their degree and are ranked in the top 20% of their class. Candidates also must have demonstrated dedication to intellectual activity and service to their community.

 

Local residents graduate from RIT during 2020-2021 academic year

      ROCHESTER, NY - Rochester Institute of Technology conferred more than 4,000 degrees at all of its campuses in the 2020-2021 academic year. Due to New York state COVID-19 occupancy restrictions, commencement was celebrated May 14-15 in smaller ceremonies by college and were live-streamed for graduates’ family and friends.

Madeleine Hunt Named to Dean’s List

      LEWISBURG, PA - Bucknell University has released the dean’s list for outstanding academic achievement during the spring semester of the 2020-21 academic year. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean’s list recognition.

Madeleine Hunt, class of 2021, from Amherst, NH has achieved dean’s list status for spring 2021.

Nichols College Graduates - Undergrads 2021

      DUDLEY, MA - Nichols College graduated 245 undergraduate students this spring. An in person commencement celebration was held for the class of 2021 on May 15, 2021.

Ciarri Formby-Lavertu of Mont Vernon, NH graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Communications.

      

RIT students named to Dean’s List for spring semester

      ROCHESTER, NY -- Rochester Institute of Technology announces its spring 2021 Dean’s List! Undergraduate students are eligible for Dean’s List if their GPA is greater than or equal to 3.40 for nine credit hours of traditionally graded coursework; they do not have any grades of “Incomplete,” NE, D, or F; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.

University of Maine announces spring 2021 Dean’s List

      The University of Maine recognized 3,670 students for achieving Dean’s List honors in the spring 2021 semester. Of the students who made the Dean’s List, 2,392 are from Maine, 1,195 are from 39 other states and 83 are from 35 countries other than the U.S.

UMass Lowell names local students to dean’s list

      LOWELL, Mass. (Grassroots Newswire) July 6, 2021 - Local residents have been named to the dean’s list at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

      Among those recognized for achieving academic distinction for the spring 2021 semester at UMass Lowell are:

Amherst Resident inducted into National Society of Leadership and Success

      MANCHESTER, NH (August 2, 2021) - Saint Anselm College student Seth Adams of Amherst, NH, a physics major in the class of 2022, has been accepted into Sigma Alpha Pi, a national society of leadership and success, for the 2020-2021 academic year. 

      Membership in Sigma Alpha Pi is by invitation based on criteria determined by local chapter leaders. Students are selected by their college based on their academic standing and/or leadership potential. Candidacy is a nationally recognized achievement of honorable distinction providing students with an opportunity to build their leadership skills, network with other successful students, and stand out as valued candidates to graduate schools and employers.

      Sigma Alpha Pi was founded with the sole purpose of creating lasting positive change by encouraging community action, volunteerism and strong leadership. It is the largest collegiate leadership honor society in the United States with 722 chapters and more than 1.3 million members nationwide. The Saint Anselm College Society Chapter was established in 2016.
