Congregational Church Stays Connected
During the suspension of in-person activities in light of the Covid-19 situation, the Congregational Church of Amherst, UCC has a variety of ways for members and others to connect with church programs. This is especially important during April as Holy Week and Easter are on the horizon.
The most up-to-date information about church activities can be found on the church’s website (ccamherst.org) or by calling the church office at 673-3231. Sunday services are broadcast on FacebookLive and recorded for later on-line viewing. Services are followed by a Virtual Fellowship Hour. Links for these and other events can be found on the website.
The church’s Facebook page is another source of information, including updates and video messages from the pastors. Pastors Maureen Frescott and Kate Kennedy are available to provide pastoral care during this time, and the church welcomes community members to connect with this loving, serving, open and affirming community of faith.

The focus will be on national and local women's health issues before, during, and after the pandemic.

She worked in public health for many years as an administrator, and also provided hospice care, long term health care, and early intervention services during her career. AAUW’s mission is to advance gender equity for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy with a vision of equity for all. In working toward these goals, the Southern New Hampshire Branch provides scholarships for young women who are pursuing college degrees with the intent to follow STEM careers after graduation. This year's recipients were two young women who graduated in June from Souhegan High School. In addition, the branch hosts the Annual Candidates Night giving voters in Amherst a chance to hear the positions of candidates running for town and school offices. The branch does not endorse any particular candidate or party. It also hosts a book discussion group, and plans social gatherings. The October 14th program will be followed by programs in January and April that will continue the focus on women's health.
