Congregational Church Stays Connected
During the suspension of in-person activities in light of the Covid-19 situation, the Congregational Church of Amherst, UCC has a variety of ways for members and others to connect with church programs. This is especially important during April as Holy Week and Easter are on the horizon.
The most up-to-date information about church activities can be found on the church’s website (ccamherst.org) or by calling the church office at 673-3231. Sunday services are broadcast on FacebookLive and recorded for later on-line viewing. Services are followed by a Virtual Fellowship Hour. Links for these and other events can be found on the website.
The church’s Facebook page is another source of information, including updates and video messages from the pastors. Pastors Maureen Frescott and Kate Kennedy are available to provide pastoral care during this time, and the church welcomes community members to connect with this loving, serving, open and affirming community of faith.

Amherst Girl Scouts Solve Storage Issue at AMS and Earn Girl Scout Silver Award
AMHERST - Lucie Hodgdon and Elysse Bell, Girl Scout Cadettes with Troop 22802, are also student athletes who enjoy playing field hockey and softball as goalies and catchers. Both positions require a lot of gear that had to be brought back and forth to school each day because there was no storage space at the school. That’s when Lucie and Elysse got the idea to build a shed on the school field that could also be used by AMS coaches to store equipment. Lucie and Elysse learned a lot of great skills building the shed and reaching out to organizations to provide materials. They’d like to thank vice-principal and project advisor, John Shuttinger, and Lowes, Currier Lumber, Home Depot, and Cave Girl Field Hockey for their support.
Girl Scout Silver Award is the highest honor a Cadette can achieve. If you are interested in having your girl join Girl Scouts contact Karen Werner, local Volunteer Support Coordinator, at kswerner.nh@gmail.com.
