Congregational Church Stays Connected
During the suspension of in-person activities in light of the Covid-19 situation, the Congregational Church of Amherst, UCC has a variety of ways for members and others to connect with church programs. This is especially important during April as Holy Week and Easter are on the horizon.
The most up-to-date information about church activities can be found on the church’s website (ccamherst.org) or by calling the church office at 673-3231. Sunday services are broadcast on FacebookLive and recorded for later on-line viewing. Services are followed by a Virtual Fellowship Hour. Links for these and other events can be found on the website.
The church’s Facebook page is another source of information, including updates and video messages from the pastors. Pastors Maureen Frescott and Kate Kennedy are available to provide pastoral care during this time, and the church welcomes community members to connect with this loving, serving, open and affirming community of faith.
Lorraine Alice Hamilton
AMHERST – Lorraine Alice Hamilton of Amherst, New Hampshire, Beach Haven, New Jersey and Rancho Mirage, California died June 14, 2020 from pancreatic cancer at her home in California. She was 73 years old and a participant in the trial of a new cancer drug at NYU Langone in New York City since April 2019. She hoped that results from the trial would improve care for other patients who develop this cancer. She was with her family when she died and was

 AMHERST – Each year, working closely with SHARE and the Amherst Lions Club, AJWC prepares food baskets for those in need in our community. We are currently in need of monetary donations to help fund this effort to feed over 30 Amherst families a wonderful holiday dinner. The Craftworkers’ Guild Holiday Craft Shop, Now Thru Dec. 22nd
BEDFORD – The Craftworkers’ Guild announces this year’s Holiday Craft Shop, which will take place both online and in person from Friday, November 26th through Saturday, December 22nd. Visit our shop at the historic Kendall House, behind the Bedford Library, open daily from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm or shop online at www.thecraftworkersguild.org. For the safety of our customers and staff, masks will be required for in person shopping.
Over 50 Guild member artisans and craftspeople are participating in this year’s Holiday Craft Shop. “We are looking forward to seeing our customers again as we fully reopen for in person shopping. Shoppers will find an extensive selection as our members have expanded their offerings with new and timely products. Our Holiday Craft Shop has something for every taste from traditional New England crafts to very contemporary pieces.” says Carol Davis, president of the Craftworkers’ Guild.
The Craftworkers’ Guild is proud to offer our customers a wide variety of locally made high quality crafts. Offerings at our Holiday Craft Shop are designed to appeal to all ages and range from stocking stuffers to large art pieces. Work presented in the Holiday Craft Shop is juried by the Guild to maintain a high standard of unique, best quality offerings. Many items are one-of-a-kind and include seasonal décor, photography, candles, fine art and prints, cards, woodworking, fiber and fabric, pottery, sewn and knitted specialties, stained and fused glass art, mixed media, jewelry in several medias and more.
The Guild supports arts education in the community and part of each purchase goes to support our arts education projects.
The Holiday Craft Fair takes place in the historic Kendall House at 3A Meetinghouse Road, Bedford, NH, located behind the Bedford Public Library. Parking is free and plentiful.
