Veterans Day Ceremony

The Mont Vernon Patriotic Purposes Committee hosted a Veterans Day observance at the War Memorial Monument on Nov 11 at 11 am. Attending Veterans assisted with the posting of the service flags, a reading of the World War l roll call, and concluded with the placement of a thank you wreath.  Afterwards an informal, appreciation reception was held at the Fire Department.

The Mont Vernon Historical Museum, located on the second floor of the Town Hall, opened for visitors. The Patriotic Purposes Committee would like to thank the Veterans and their families, Union Coffee Company, and the Historical Society for their participation and support. For further information contact the Town Hall: 603-673-6080 or townofmontvernon@comcast.net

Small Town

Our ‘Small Town’ Tree Lighting event kicks off at 5:30 pm on Saturday, December 11th
Be sure to get there on time to see Santa arrive in style! Socially Distanced photo opportunities will be available with Santa.
Head over to the open Fire Station bays and checkout the MVFDA’s Chili Cook-off! Sample and vote on your favorite Chili, then make a donation to this important organization and grab a bowl of your favorite!
Around the tent, mingle under the stars with your neighbors, listen to holiday music, sip cocoa and eat cookies, pick up a commemorative ornament, and a take-home kid's craft (limited supplies for both), as we lead up to the main event!
Our local Boy Scout Pack #613 will lead us to the Town Hall steps with some festive singing, as we prepare to recognize our Honorary Tree Lighter and countdown to the big moment!
Prior to Tree Lighting, starting at 4 pm, grab your Ticket to the Heritage Commission's 2021 Village Holiday Walk. Tickets for that event can be purchased online via this link: https://pay.eb2gov.com/Service/POS/1383?towncode=644...
With COVID numbers at an all-time high and in order to prioritize safety, Tree Lighting will take place entirely outdoors this year.

Fear not, however! We plan to turn the Town Hall parking lot into a ‘Small Town’ winter carnival --- and Tree Lighting is sure to be as spectacular as ever!

We’ll have warming stations and hot food and drinks to keep you cozy, but please be sure to dress for an OUTDOOR gathering!! Access to restrooms in the Town Hall and Fire Station will be available. Please wear a mask while using these indoor facilities. Tents will be set up in the Town Hall parking lot and cars will be unable to park in this lot. Handicap Parking will be available on the right side of the Fire Station. All other vehicles are asked to park at the MVVS, Post Office, or McCollom lots.
Thank you for your cooperation!

PLEASE VOLUNTEER!

We'll need lots of help to set up and keep the event running!!! ...and cookies, lots of cookies!
