Jesse Anderson Receives PhD from University of Florida 

      GAINESVILLE, FL – Jesse Anderson, son of Nancy and Scott Simeone of Amherst and Terrance Anderson of Temple, NH is a graduate of Souhegan High School class of 2010.  He received his undergraduate degree from the University of New Hampshire in 2014.  

      In 2016 Jesse received his master’s degree in Urban Planning at the University of Florida and continued on and received his PhD from the University of Florida.  He is a senior planner for the City of St. Cloud, Florida.

 

Mont Vernon Resident Inducted into National College Athlete Honor Society

      MANCHESTER - Saint Anselm College student McKenzie Robinson of Mont Vernon, NH, an elementary education major in the class of 2022, has been accepted into Chi Alpha Sigma, a national scholar-athlete honor society, for the 2020-2021 academic year. 

      Chi Alpha Sigma recognizes college students who receive a varsity letter in their sport while maintaining a 3.4 or higher cumulative GPA throughout their junior and/or senior years. Inductees rank among the top student athletes in the country.

      The National College Athlete Honor Society was founded at DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana, in 1996 by Nick Mourouzis, DePauw head football coach and professor of kinesiology. Saint Anselm College has been a member of Chi Alpha Sigma since 2001.

The Dean's List at MCPHS University

      BOSTON - MCPHS University is pleased to announce the students who have been named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2021 semester:

      * Tessaleigh Leroy is a native of Amherst, NH and is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Tessaleigh will graduate from the Manchester, New Hampshire campus in 2021.

      * Lauren Trepaney is a native of Amherst, NH and is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Lauren will graduate from the Manchester, New Hampshire campus in 2021.

      * Katherine Visich is a native of Amherst, NH and is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Katherine will graduate from the Manchester, New Hampshire campus in 2021.

      The Dean's List recognizes those students with a full-time course load who have achieved outstanding scholarship with a 3.5 GPA or higher for the academic term.

Amherst Resident Matthew CHistoryolini Graduates from Colgate University

      HAMILTON, NY -- Matthew CHistoryolini, of Amherst, NH is a graduate of Colgate University in the Class of 2021.

      CHistoryolini, a graduate of Souhegan High School, majored in Applied Mathematics and Economics at Colgate.

      CHistoryolini received a Bachelor of Arts degree Magna Cum Laude at Colgate's 200th Commencement, which was held in person at Colgate's Andy Kerr Stadium on May 9 this year.

Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) Announces the President’s List

      MANCHESTER – It is with great pleasure that Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) congratulates the following students on being named to the summer 2021 President's List.

      Full-time students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above are named to the President's List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits; undergraduate day students must earn 12 credits in fall or spring semester, and online students must earn 12 credits in either EW1 & EW2, EW3 & EW4, or EW5 & EW6.

UMass Lowell Celebrates Class of 2021

      LOWELL - UMass Lowell recently honored local residents among its 4,582 graduates.

      Despite the pandemic, UMass Lowell was able to offer graduates the chance to safely celebrate their success through a combination of virtual ceremonies and the in-person presentation of their diploma covers with a family photo at the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell May 12 through 14. 

      Friday's ceremony featured Deepak Chopra - founder of The Chopra Foundation, a nonprofit entity for research on well-being and humanitarianism, and Chopra Global receiving a doctor of humane letters - who, along with UMass Lowell graduate and founder of The Born to Run Foundation Noelle Lambert, addressed the Class of 2021. 

Local residents among UMass Lowell's Class of 2021 are:

* David Barry of Amherst, N.H., who received a bachelor of science in engineering degree in plastics engineering.

Westminster to Present Alumni Awards During 2021 Homecoming

      NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.– As part of Westminster College’s 2021 Homecoming and Reunion Week, nine alumni will be honored at the annual Alumni Awards Reception and Dinner on Friday, Oct. 15.

      The Westminster College Alumni Citations were created to recognize alumni who achieved significant accomplishments in their profession or made meaningful contributions to the community or Westminster. . 

      Michael Anthony, a 1977 graduate with a degree in business administration-management, has over 40 years in retail, product development and brand building and has led several retail organizations as chair of the board, president and CEO. 

      He began his career with Gold Circle Stores, advancing to Lechter’s Inc., Brookstone Company and Things Remembered. He is an investor and member of the Board of Directors of 2nd Avenue Stores, a chain of thrift superstores in the Philadelphia area, and also serves on the board of Green Drop, which collects gently-used clothing and household goods and sells them to thrift stores. 

      He continues to have strong ties with Westminster and serves on the College’s Board of Distinguished Visitors. He established the Michael F. Anthony ’77 Scholarship Fund at Westminster, which benefits students from Corry, Pa., and Erie County, and he helped create School of Business’ Entrepreneurial Conference Room at Westminster. He lives in Amherst, N.H.
