Congregational Church Stays Connected
During the suspension of in-person activities in light of the Covid-19 situation, the Congregational Church of Amherst, UCC has a variety of ways for members and others to connect with church programs. This is especially important during April as Holy Week and Easter are on the horizon.
The most up-to-date information about church activities can be found on the church’s website (ccamherst.org) or by calling the church office at 673-3231. Sunday services are broadcast on FacebookLive and recorded for later on-line viewing. Services are followed by a Virtual Fellowship Hour. Links for these and other events can be found on the website.
The church’s Facebook page is another source of information, including updates and video messages from the pastors. Pastors Maureen Frescott and Kate Kennedy are available to provide pastoral care during this time, and the church welcomes community members to connect with this loving, serving, open and affirming community of faith.

It’s Time to Focus on Us!
The Y invites the Community to YMCA STRONG Wellness Challenge, helping us get strong in spirit, mind and body
NASHUA – The YMCA of Greater Nashua is using the pandemic to challenge people to keep up with their health or get back on track by joining YMCA STRONG wellness challenge. “It’s simple and starts with just 20 minutes of movement, five days a week. We’re challenging our community members to move: by themselves, with a buddy or with their entire family. We will come together with a common purpose, finishing 2020 strong. We’re inviting everyone to put their health first and join us.” said Katie Parker, Executive Director of Member Experience at the YMCA of Greater Nashua.
Understandably, the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted a lot of people’s ability to stay consistent, and that’s why the YMCA is motivating members of our community to bring those healthy habits back. “It’s all for their YMCA STRONG challenge. If you can commit to at least 20 minutes a day, for five days a week, and keep it up for six weeks long, then you can do it,” she said.
Each week, for members and non-members, the YMCA will share free coaching, activity ideas and help hold people accountable to stay on track. The Y’s wellness team will inspire new ideas and help find options for everyone to fulfill weekly challenger. The link to weekly updates is: www.nmymca.org/strong. There you will also find a weekly tracking sheet. There is also a Facebook group to connect with others participating in YMCA STRONG (search ‘The Y STRONG Challenge – YMCA of Greater Nashua.’)

“Our challenge helps people focus not only on their healthy lifestyle or their exercise or wellness, but also their social connectivity, connectivity with their family, connecting with their community, and just becoming a healthier individual overall,” said Ms. Parker.
The challenge is designed to help people get their energy back between the mind, body and spirit.
The YMCA Challenge starts Monday, November 2 and runs through Sunday, December 13. There is no cost to join.
