TOWN EGG HUNT ~ Saturday, April 16th, 10 to 11:30 am

Our Egg Hunt returns! This cherished event starts off in the MVVS MPR.

•   Enjoy kid’s crafts, festive tattoos, snacks, and games!

•   Plant seeds, make a pinwheel, and take in some baby animals.

•   Learn about the history and tradition of the Ukrainian Pysanky Egg. Purchase a raffle ticket to win an original Ukrainian Pysanky Egg handmade by our very own Lesha Colthart! 100% of ticket sales will be donated to UNICEF to benefit the Children of Ukraine. The raffle winner will be an-nounced at 11 AM.

      Then head out to McCollom Field to get a peek at our bunny hopping around and to search for hidden eggs! The children will be divided into the following age groups:

•   Age 5 and Under ~ on the playground

•    Kindergarten & younger ~ Section 1 on McCollom Field

•   1st & 2nd Grades  ~ Section 2 on McCollom Field

•   3rd & 4th Grades  ~ Section 3 on McCollom Field

•   5th & 6th + Grades  ~ Section 4 on McCollom Field

     Be sure to bring your own basket/bucket and keep an eye out for the golden eggs! Please empty and return all eggs to the collection bins at the end of the event. Thank you!

SPRING GALA ~ Saturday, May 21st, 7:30 am to 2 pm, “Bloom Where You Are Planted”

      Let’s celebrate our fantastic community by showing each other that we can “Bloom Where We Are Planted” – right here in Mont Vernon! Here are some details of the day:

•   MVFD Pancake Breakfast

•   N2N Fun Run & 5K Road Race

•   Followed by games, food, crafts, and activities on the green until 2 pm! As well as a plant & jewel sale at the Library, tours of our very own Museum, and so much more!!!

Strength & Tone from Home

      Tuesdays & Thursdays at 5:45 am via Zoom - a 45-minute class of strength and conditioning workout led by personal trainer, Mary Rondeau.

Cardio & Toning in the Gym

      Saturdays at 7:30 am in the Mont Vernon Village School gym - a 45-minute cardio and toning workout led by fitness instructor, Mary Manseau.

      These sessions are ongoing. If you are interested in trying a class - the first one is free! If you’d like to sign-up for a session, we offer 2x and 3x a week options.

Daland Memorial Library

National Library Week April 3rd-9th, Come Join Us!

Peep Scavenger Hunt

      Pick up an official Peep Scavenger Hunt clue sheet and travel around Mont Vernon to find all 7 LARGE wooden colorful Peeps.  Look high, look low, look fast look slow!  Find all 7 and bring your clue sheet back to the library for a chance at winning our Peeps Raffle Basket. One lucky looker is sure to win!  The scavenger hunt officially begins Friday, April 1st- Friday April 15th. Winner will be announced Saturday, April 16th.  Happy hunting!

Peep Diorama Contest

      The Peep Diorama Contest is back at the library! Pick up a few packs of Peeps and create a diorama to be entered into our Annual Peeporama Contest on Saturday, April 16th from 10-1. Visit the library or click on the link bellow for the official rules. Each entry will be judged on Originality, Overall Appearance, and Creative Use of Peeps. Prizes for Peeple’s Choice Award, Best in Show (Ages 5-12), Best in Show (13-18), Best in Show (Adult). Drop off your creations on Friday, April 15th from 2-6pm and be sure to stop to see all the entries and vote for your favorites on  Saturday, April 16th at 1:30pm. We can’t wait to see what you create! Have fun!!

Spring Flower Arrangement Class

      Spring is here!  Join florist Sue Ries for an evening of flower arranging on Wednesday, April 13th at 7pm just in time for Easter.  Sue will provide all the supplies for a table centerpiece including a vase, flowers, flowering branches, and cutting tools.  Space is limited to 12 participants. Registration required. $25 material fee.

Save the Date! Friends of the Library Plant & Junque Jewel Sale 

      Mark your calendars for the Annual Friends of the Library Plant Sale on Saturday, May 21st from 9am-2pm. Come pick from a variety of local garden perennials and herbs along with awesome garden raffle items. Do you have plants

to donate? Contact our Plant Sale Chair Sue Ries by email at sbries57@gmail.com to set up a garden dig or planted pot drop off   This year, the Friends will also be hosting the famous Junque Jewel Sale!  Come shop inside the library and chose from an eclectic collection of donated jewelry including rings, necklaces, bracelets, earnings, watches and more! Do you have jewelry to donate? Drop off your donations to the library during open hours. See you at the sale!
